Hey everyone....
I appreciate that so many of you checked our blog for a quite a while waiting on me to post something about the baby. Now that she is 3 months, I finally might have a little more time to blog. I just know that I need to capture memories. WordPress was a real pain for pictures, so I wanted to switch to Blogger. Hopefully it will be easier, and therefor faster.
As I mentioned, Piper is 12 weeks old and officially 3 months on Sunday. Every single week she seems to grow and make new discoveries. I will find a cute outfit that was big on her a few weeks back shoved in the back of a drawer and find that I can barely squeeze it on her! She is tall for her age, so while things are a little baggy side to side, she grows out of them in the length! I find that funny since she comes from short parents. Now that I realize this, I don't wait until the month on the tag to put her in things. She is already filling out Gerber 3 month onesies and has been for a couple of weeks! In just the last week or so she has discovered that she can use her hands to play with toys and toys are also much more of an experience for her now. She is thoroughly fascinated by her feet and while I thought she was just desperately wanting to stay sitting up at all times, I realize now that she has just been trying to move her mouth toward her feet! She has her hands in her mouth pretty much 24/7 which also started about a week ago, so it appears that she now wants those toes too. It is so amazing watching her grow and change. She is becoming easier to take places, and I understand her moods and demeanour much more now. Our schedule is starting to become more normalized, but if we go out for a large portion of the day Lord help us because she will refuse to nap when we get home. She still doesn't want to nap in her crib and will cry and cry, but you hold her, put her in her swing, or drive her in the car and she is out like a light. Car rides are also getting MUCH better. Probably thanks to all of the drives to Raleogh and Lexington that we have been making. In general, she is growing up and life is getting easier for us both. I love her more than words can say and my favorite time of day is first thing in the morning when she gurgles and coos for me like we are talking. She is such a little blessing.
On a heavier note, our great friend Eden who lives across the street with his wife (who is a dear friend of mine) and daughter was critically wounded in Afghanistan with burns over 85% of his body - most 2nd and 3rd degree. He is at the burn center in San Antonio and being well taken care of. He is still in a medically enduced coma, but is strong and doing well... he is a fighter and he will pull through this. They are on my mind constantly.
